Vaccination &
Immunisation
Protecting Every Child, Every Family, Every Generation
Why Vaccination Matters
Vaccination is one of the most powerful and cost-effective public health tools ever developed.
It protects individuals and entire communities from deadly but preventable diseases such as measles, tuberculosis, polio, hepatitis, diphtheria, and COVID-19.
Every vaccine given today helps to:
Save lives — millions of children survive each year because of vaccines.
Prevent outbreaks — protecting schools, villages, and families.
Strengthen community health — reducing the burden on hospitals and healthcare systems.
Yet, many families in Sierra Leone still lack access to vaccines due to distance, misinformation, or limited supply.
Mini’s Village Foundation is working to change this reality — ensuring that no child is left behind.
MVF’s Mission
Our vaccination programme is built on a simple belief:
> “Health equity begins with immunisation.”
Mini’s Village Foundation partners with local clinics, schools, and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS) to:
Provide routine immunisation for children under 5
Conduct outreach vaccination days in rural and hard-to-reach areas
Support maternal immunisation to protect mothers and newborns
Deliver awareness campaigns on vaccine safety and importance
Strengthen cold chain and logistics to ensure vaccine potency
Routine Childhood Immunisation Schedule (Sierra Leone)

Maternal & Adult Vaccination
Tetanus (TT) Vaccine
Protects pregnant women and newborns against neonatal tetanus, a life-threatening condition.

2. Hepatitis B Vaccine
Prevents transmission from mother to baby during birth.
Offered to pregnant women and healthcare workers.
3. HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine
Protects girls and women from cervical cancer.
Given between ages 9–14, before sexual activity begins.
4. Influenza, COVID-19 & Booster Doses
MVF collaborates with health authorities during seasonal and emergency vaccination drives.
Community Outreach
MVF’s mobile vaccination teams reach:
Rural communities where families cannot travel to clinics.
Schools, providing health talks and vaccination days for children.
Markets, mosques, and churches, offering information and immunisation.
Our teams ensure safe vaccine delivery using WHO-approved cold boxes and trained community nurses.
Vaccine Safety & Myths
We understand that some parents worry about vaccines — but vaccines are safe, effective, and life-saving.
Facts:
Vaccines go through years of testing before approval.
Side effects (like mild fever or soreness) are normal and temporary.
Vaccines do not cause the diseases they prevent.
Delaying or avoiding vaccination puts children at serious risk.
Impact of MVF’s Vaccination Programme
Over 3,000 children and mothers reached through mobile outreach in pilot districts.
Cold chain units installed at partner clinics using solar power.
Community health workers trained in vaccine handling, record-keeping, and follow-up.
Increased immunisation coverage and reduced dropout rates in rural areas.
Together, We Can Build a Healthier Future
Vaccination is an act of love and protection — for our children, our families, and our future.
By vaccinating today, we create a generation free from diseases that once devastated communities.
> “Vaccinate your child today — protect a lifetime of tomorrows.”
